Hope is in the business of making giving easy. It took us seven years to help donors give away the first $50M and then only three more years to give away the second $50M. We are excited to announce that the foundation has now exceeded $100,000,000 in cumulative grants since being founded in 1998.
In the fall of 1998 we gifted one of our first checks to Christ Community Medical Center (now called Christ Community Health Services), a health provider to the inner city. Almost ten years later, we presented The Seed Company, an international Bible translation ministry, with a check to cross the $100M mark of directed funds from HOPE Donor Advised Funds.
The total $100M giving represents gifts to over 1,000 different organizations. 110 or about 11% of the organizations received 90% of the total giving. 23 organizations received more than $1M and accounted for about 63% of the total. The list includes education: New Hope Christian Academy, Jubilee Schools, Crichton College, Lemoyne Owen College among others. Many donors also remembered area churches through their donor advised funds: Second Presbyterian, First Evangelical and Independent Presbyterian among others. International ministries supported strongly through Hope included The Seed Company, Strategic Resource Group, Campus Crusade for Christ International, Opportunity International, and World Relief.
Over the past 10-years and 100-million dollars, Hope has been blessed to be a part of great change across the city and world with its foundation in the Gospel. We are excited to partner and move forward to greater accomplishments. Thank you to all of our donors who are being purposeful about meeting the need. We are excited about this growth as we watch God continue to provide through those who have chosen the Hope Christian Community Foundation as their agent of giving.
